With a sound located somewhere between the deep south and South Wales, Gumbo La La play the rootsiest honky-tonk, zydeco and R&B in London. They like nothing better than to play foot-stompin' tunes that you can dance the Texas polka to.

Rupert plays double bass and sings. He also plays with Franka De Mille, The Dead Victorians and Balkan troubadours Kuma Lisa.

Alan Dunn

Alan plays keys, both horizontal and vertical. He's recorded with legends such as folk singer Loudon Wainwright III, Bob Geldof and the mighty Rolf Harris.

The many other great musicians that have performed with Gumbo La La include accordionist Chris Lyons, accordionist Edward Jay, fiddler Chris Haigh, fiddler Carly Frey, fiddler Eva Gillett, fiddler Mike Lease, flautist Carlos Saldana, double bassist Paul Tkachenko and saxophonist Max Grunhard.

In the brief time they've been around, Gumbo La La have played all over London and the UK, including venues such as The Slaughtered Lamb, Barrio Central, Barts Speakeasy, The Oxo Tower Brasserie, Scott's restaurant and The King's Head Theatre Pub.
